Initiative

CodeNest

A place where young people explore, build, and turn curiosity into real skills, through guided exposure to computers, coding with Scratch, real tools and AI.

Not just access to computers, but guidance. The kind of encouragement Rev. Father Dagadu Eric gave me in Basic 4, and the kind of first lesson that got me hooked in Basic 7, made deliberate for every child who walks in.

01.

What young people do

Explore

Guided time with computers and the internet: the same play that hooked me at Front Line Internet Café.

Code with Scratch

Building games and stories with blocks, the friendliest first step into programming.

Real tools

Moving from play to the tools professionals actually use.

Even AI

Meeting AI early, understanding what it is and using it to make things.

02.

Why it matters

Early, guided exposure compounds. This is the path I lived, and the one CodeNest is built around.

  1. Play

Children explore freely, with someone nearby to encourage them.

  2. Skill

What starts as play becomes skill.

  3. Competence

    Curiosity turns into competence.

  4. Innovation

Over time, competence drives innovation. That’s how societies grow.

Tech advocacy

Being a tech advocate is one of the things I love most about teaching. I talk to parents, schools and communities about digital literacy: why children should touch computers early, why play matters, and why access without guidance isn’t enough.

The same belief runs through my work at Nerds IV Technologies, where we build tools like suku360 for schools and SukuuData for education data.

Work together

Bring CodeNest to your community.

Whether you’re a parent, a school or an organisation that wants children to explore and build with technology, let’s talk.
