I represented COMoG at GCSF 2026 at Cedi Hall, University of Ghana. Two days on sustainable CSO financing, democratic partnerships, and using AI and cybersecurity responsibly in civil society.

From 25th to 26th June 2026, I had the privilege of representing Country Observers Mission on Governance (COMoG) at the Ghana Civil Society Forum (GCSF) 2026, held at Cedi Hall, University of Ghana.
The theme was “Reimagining Partnerships for Democratic Consolidation and Inclusive Development.”

Who was in the room
The two-day forum brought together civil society organisations, government institutions, development partners and governance experts, all looking for new ways to strengthen democracy, make institutions sustainable and drive inclusive national development.

What I took away
- Sustainable financing strategies for civil society organisations.
- Strengthening democratic governance through collaborative partnerships.
- The responsible integration of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity in civil society work. As someone who builds software, this one stayed with me most.
- Emerging governance reforms within the Ghana Civil Society Forum itself.
- Building stronger networks with development partners and fellow CSOs.
The common thread was clear: innovation, accountability, institutional resilience and collective action all matter if we want to advance democratic governance in Ghana.
What happens next
At COMoG, we’re committed to applying the knowledge and partnerships from GCSF 2026: strengthening civic engagement, promoting transparent governance, and contributing meaningfully to Ghana’s democratic development.
