Our daughters are rising, and rightly so. They are focused, consistent, and increasingly confident.

But our sons? Too many are drifting: undirected, disengaged, and underserved.

This is not about comparison. It is about balance.

Why I started it

Most of the initiatives around us today are, rightly, tailored towards the girl child. That work matters, and I’ve been part of it. But I kept noticing that the boy was being left behind. If we can build systems that intentionally support girls, and we have, then we must also be intentional about guiding boys.

So in August 2026 I started the Boys Club Initiative (BCI) at Martey Tsuru Presbyterian JHS: a structured mentorship and development programme focused on four things:

  • Discipline
  • Responsibility
  • Academic engagement
  • Leadership development

This is not a reaction. It is a response, not against anyone, but for the boy who needs guidance, structure, and purpose. Because true progress is not measured by who is ahead, but by whether anyone is being left behind.

Cómo funciona

The club runs in my school for now, and the goal is for other schools to adopt it. Every boy who joins does so with his parents’ consent: parents fill a consent form, so families know exactly what their son is part of.
