On 18 March 2026, I served as a trainer at a Basic STEM (BSTEM) workshop held at Teshie Presbyterian Senior High Technical School.

The participants were 16 science teachers, each from a different school in the circuit. Teshie was the venue; the teachers came in from across the circuit, which means every one of them goes back to a different classroom.

What we worked on

The focus was practical: how to assemble robots, and how to use them in teaching. The teachers built their robots, got them running on the track, and we talked through how a robot can bring a science lesson to life instead of staying in a box in the staff room.

Why train teachers

One trained teacher reaches every class they teach, year after year. Sixteen teachers from sixteen schools means robotics can show up in sixteen classrooms, not just one. It’s the same belief behind CodeNest: young people learn by touching real tools early, with someone beside them who knows how to guide them. Teachers are that someone.
